Training for Small Breeds Half of the in-home dog training we provide is for dogs weighing less than 20 lbs. For these types of dogs, we recommend never using a choke chain or bribing them with food. Small breeds should always be trained privately using our 3- or 6-week courses. All breeds regardless small or large breeds between the ages of 2-6 months, is called the fear imprint age. Everything positive or negative that happens between these ages effect the way your dog will grow up. This is where Ace Dog Training has 30 years of experience to make sure this is done successfully. Remember, you will own your dog for 12 - 15 years do you want an amateur to handle your baby, or a proven professional trainer, why would you risk it with your family member. Training for Large Breeds Just like small breeds, large-breed dogs require special training. Our in-home dog training allows these breeds to become better acclimated to your house. We pay special attention to behavioral problems with these breeds jumping, playbiting, digging, chewing, and agression. The bigger the dog and longer you wait to train large breeds makes it much more difficult their size and weight can make correcting behavioral problems much more difficult, our advice as soon as they walk through your door you need to start training.
